Basketball Recap: Pasquotank County Panthers vs. Northeastern Eagles

The Pasquotank County Panthers struggled with offensive rebounds on Monday (the Northeastern Eagles had 22 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Pasquotank County was outmatched by the Eagles on the road and fell 64-37. Pasquotank County has not had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.

Despite the loss, Pasquotank County still got an impressive performance from Anylah Bowe, who dropped a double-double on 13 rebounds and 14 blocks. Bowe is crushing the rebound category: she's posted at least nine every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Ka?leigha Person, who scored eight points along with three steals.

Jasmine Felton continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Northeastern, dropping a double-double on 30 points and 13 rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Felton has scored at least a third of Northeastern's points. Jada Simpson was another key contributor, scoring five points along with seven steals and six rebounds.

Pasquotank County's defeat dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Northeastern, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-5.

Pasquotank County will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Bears at 6:00 p.m. Hertford County will be looking to extend their current ten-game winning streak. As for Northeastern, they will head out on the road to challenge the Aces at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Holmes will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 217th, while the Eagles are ranked 70th).
