Bishop Kearney had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They were the clear victors by a 13-1 margin over the Aquinas Institute Little Irish on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Kings in their matchups with the Little Irish: they've now won six in a row.

Carmella Phelan was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Phelan was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with three runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Coral Enscoe was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Claire Spears, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Aquinas Institute's defeat was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2.
