Basketball Game Preview: Mt. Blue Cougars vs. Oxford Hills Vikings

Mt. Blue is 1-9 against Oxford Hills since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Mt. Blue Cougars will look to defend their home court against the Oxford Hills Vikings at 12:00 p.m.

On Thursday, Mt. Blue didn't have quite enough to beat Brewer and fell 35-32. While the Cougars didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Witches 9-4 in the first quarter.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Oxford Hills, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 66-64 win over Bangor on Thursday.

Oxford Hills pushed their record up to 7-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points per game. As for Mt. Blue, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3.

Mt. Blue beat Oxford Hills 51-39 in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Will Mt. Blue repeat their success, or does Oxford Hills have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
