Softball Recap: Kirtland Central Comes Up Short

Kirtland Central lost against Aztec two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Broncos lost 14-4 to the Tigers. The Broncos have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kirtland Central saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rory Benally, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. Tanisha Thomas was another, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Kirtland Central's defeat dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Aztec, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-10 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Kirtland Central will challenge rival Bloomfield at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Aztec is set to square off against their familiar foe Gallup at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
