Softball Recap: Loyola Academy Comes Up Short

Loyola Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Providence Catholic Celtics. If the Ramblers were looking for revenge after losing 4-0 to the Celtics when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Leanna Keller made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and one double. She also brought in an RBI, marking her first of the season.

Loyola Academy's record is now 1-8. As for Providence Catholic, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Loyola Academy is set to face off against their familiar foe St. Laurence at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Providence Catholic will challenge rival Mother McAuley at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday.
