Valley falls despite strong effort from Nevaeh Jimenez

The Valley Vikings suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Saturday. They were outmatched by Strasburg at home and fell 56-29. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Valley has suffered against Strasburg since January 25, 2018.

When it comes to explaining why Valley lost, one person who can't be blamed is Nevaeh Jimenez. Despite the final result, she scored nine points along with 13 rebounds and two steals. Jimenez is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Peyton Savolt was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.

Valley has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season. As for Strasburg, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-4.

Valley will be playing in front of their home fans against Eaton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Eaton is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games. Strasburg will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Liberty Common at 4:00 p.m. on January 16th. Liberty Common will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 244th, while Strasburg is ranked 107th).
