Phillipsburg extended the longest winning streak in Mid-Continent this week by beating Hoisington, 27-6. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Panthers.
Norton took down Ellis 39-8 last week, the largest margin of any game.
The Railroaders' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Blake Hudson threw for 35 and one touchdown and Cadyn McCoy had 36 yards receiving. On the ground Gage Younger chipped in 133 yards. Younger helped Ellis' passing attack out by catching one ball for two yards.
Phillipsburg's Sean Newlan and Seth Derr have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Newlan has thrown for 256 yards this season, while Derr, a 5-foot-11 receiver, has six catches for 276 yards. Hudson from Ellis leads the league in rushing with 397 yards.
The Bluejays led the league in scoring this week after putting up 39 points on Butch Hayes's team.
