Football Recap: Masuk Comes Up Short in High-Profile Matchup with Bunnell

Masuk faced Bunnell in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Panthers took a 21-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2024.

Although Masuk took the loss, they still got scores from Ricardo Teixeira and Steven Curtin.

Jake Garrigan looked great while leading his team to the win, throwing for 212 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 18 passes, while also rushing for 47 yards.

Masuk's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Bunnell, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Masuk wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 28-21 loss against Darien on the 26th. As for Bunnell, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 27-7 defeat against New Canaan on the 26th.
