Baseball Game Preview: University Cougars vs. Apopka Blue Darters

The University Cougars are taking a road trip to challenge the Apopka Blue Darters at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Things were looking good for University after they put the first runs on the board on Monday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell 10-5 to Lake Howell. The Cougars haven't had much luck with the Silverhawks recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

University saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sebastian Montanez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Apopka fell victim to Winter Park and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 10-0 to the Wildcats. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, the Blue Darters' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Apopka's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-7. As for University, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-10.

University suffered a grim 12-1 defeat to Apopka in their previous matchup back in April of 2021. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
