Softball Recap: Flanagan Comes Up Short

Flanagan and Miami Beach squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Flanagan had to settle for second. They lost 20-5 to the Hi-Tides.

Jasmine Gonzalez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Jade Reeves, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Flanagan has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season. As for Miami Beach, they pushed their record up to 13-5 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.

Flanagan does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Miami Beach, they will face off against Doral Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Firebirds will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Hi-Tides surely won't give up without a fight.
