Soccer Game Preview: Durham Academy vs. Wesleyan Christian Academy

The Durham Academy Cavaliers are taking a road trip to challenge the Wesleyan Christian Academy Trojans at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

While Durham Academy fans will have to keep waiting for their squad to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Friday's season opener. They never let Winston Salem Christian get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory on Friday. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Durham Academy were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, Wesleyan Christian Academy took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Friday. They had just enough and edged out Cannon 2-1. Wesleyan Christian Academy's winning goal came courtesy of Hayden Hemming.

Durham Academy might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Wesleyan Christian Academy when the teams last played back in August of 2024. Can the Cavaliers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
