The Lewisburg Patriots are taking a road trip to challenge the Hernando Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lewisburg is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.

Lewisburg is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Mississippi's top teams: DeSoto Central, who was ranked sixth at the time (Lewisburg was ranked 25th). The Patriots lost 10-4 to the Jaguars on Tuesday. The Patriots haven't had much luck with the Jaguars recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Lexi Edmiston spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned (and four unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, Lewisburg saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emma Abrams, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Another was Leona-Klaire Stokes, who scored two runs and stole two bases.

Meanwhile, Hernando put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against Oxford as they made off with an 11-3 win. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won ten matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

Hernando pushed their record up to 20-0 with the victory, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.1 runs over those games. As for Lewisburg, their loss dropped their record down to 14-10.

Lewisburg was able to grind out a solid victory over Hernando in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 8-4. Do the Patriots have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
