Volleyball Recap: Reading Comes Up Short

Reading was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to the Central Dauphin East Panthers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Red KNights of the 1-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.

While Reading was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Central Dauphin East's winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-17, 25-19.

Central Dauphin East was led to victory by Ram Giri and Prasant Pradhan. Giri had 19 assists and four digs, while Pradhan had 13 digs. Those 19 assists gave Giri a new career-high.

Reading's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Central Dauphin East, the victory (which was their fourth in a row dating back to last season) raised their record to 3-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Reading will square off against York Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Central Dauphin East, they will face off against Central Dauphin at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
