Football Recap: Irwin County Indians vs. Trion Bulldogs
Irwin County extended their postseason success on Friday against Trion. They came out on top against the Trion Bulldogs by a score of 40-30. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Indians also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2015.
It was another big night for Shane Marshall, who rushed for 200 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.0 yards per carry. He showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 65 yards.
Irwin County was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 443 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 174 rushing yards in 12 consecutive games.

Irwin County pushed their record up to 12-1 with the victory, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Trion, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-3.
Irwin County will face off against Bowdon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bowdon will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Irwin County surely won't give up without a fight. Trion does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
