Basketball Game Preview: Orland Trojans vs. Las Plumas Thunderbirds

Two dominant guards in Preston Carlson and T.J. Thompson are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Orland Trojans will host the Las Plumas Thunderbirds at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Orland is headed into Tuesday's match hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight losses. They were beaten by Gridley 78-35 on Friday. The game marked the Trojans' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Las Plumas entered their match against Corning on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Las Plumas took a 67-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of Corning. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Thunderbirds came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 270th, while the Cardinals are ranked 833rd).

Orland's defeat dropped their record down to 15-6. As for Las Plumas, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 16-6.
