Soccer Recap: Hibriten Comes Up Short

Hibriten entered their matchup against Lake Norman on Wednesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Hibriten lost 3-0 to Lake Norman. While losing is never fun, Hibriten can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 76th, while Lake Norman are ranked 14th).

Hibriten's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3-2. As for Lake Norman, the win keeps they at an undefeated 6-0.

Coming up, Hibriten will challenge Freedom at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The contest will give Hibriten their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Lake Norman, they will look to defend their home pitch on Friday against West Cabarrus at 7:30 p.m. Lake Norman will be up against West Cabarrus' rather soft defense (which has allowed 2.57 goals per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
