Softball Recap: McQueen Lancers vs. Whitney Wildcats
McQueen is ranked highly in their home state and on Tuesday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Whitney. The Lancers came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of 5-2. For the Lancers, this counts as revenge for the 10-1 victory the Wildcats walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2017.
Violet Moyao spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits.
On the hitting side, Montana Huitt and Vanessa Bein did most of the damage at the plate: Huitt scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4, while Bein went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one stolen base. That's the most hits Huitt has posted since back in March. Maddie Hawkins was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

McQueen pushed their record up to 13-10 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.
