Football Recap: Willow Lions vs. East Jefferson Warriors
Friday just wasn't the day for Willow's offense. They had to suffer through a 33-0 loss at the hands of the East Jefferson Warriors. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.
Jacob Guichet threw for 102 yards on 12 of 30 attempts.
Darryl Franklin was his top target, picking up 64 receiving yards.
Jayden Obiekwe had a dynamite game for East Jefferson, rushing for 275 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 12.5 yards per carry. Obiekwe's longest rush was for an incredible 76 yards.
This is the second loss in a row for Willow and nudges their season record down to 1-3. As for East Jefferson, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Willow will challenge Newman at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for East Jefferson, they will welcome South Plaquemines at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
