Baseball Recap: Escambia Gators vs. Milton Panthers
After flying high against West Florida last Friday, Escambia came back down to earth. The Escambia Gators took a 10-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Milton Panthers on Tuesday. The Gators were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2023.
Christian Stone was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he launched this season. Another player making a difference was Taivyn Anderson, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Escambia's loss dropped their record down to 11-3. As for Milton, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Escambia will take on Gulf Breeze at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Gulf Breeze is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season. As for Milton, they will square off against Jay at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
