Softball Recap: Nonnewaug's Undefeated Season over After 22 Games

After flying high against Thomaston on Tuesday, Nonnewaug came back down to earth. The Chiefs fell just short of the Northwestern Regional Highlanders by a score of 7-6 on Wednesday. The loss was the Chiefs' first of the season.

Jade Rinaldi and Gianna DeLorenzo did some serious damage despite the final result: Rinaldi went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI, while DeLorenzo went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Having lost for the first time this season, Nonnewaug fell to 21-1. As for Northwestern Regional, their win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-3.

As of now, neither Nonnewaug nor the Highlanders have any future games scheduled.
