Basketball Recap: Syracuse Comes Up Short

Syracuse suffered their biggest defeat since January 26, 2024 on Friday. They lost 80-59 to the Davis Darts. The Titans haven't had much luck with the Darts recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

When it comes to explaining why Syracuse lost, don't look at Skyler Orton. Despite the final result, he posted 12 points. Another player making a difference was Beckam Rees, who scored nine points.

Davis had a senior duo take command as Coleman Atwater went 9 of 20 on his way to 24 points and Croydon Christensen went 7 for 9 en route to 16 points in addition to eight rebounds and three blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Christensen has scored all season. Bennett Wright was another key player, putting up 11 points and six boards.

Syracuse's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Davis, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Syracuse has already played their next contest (against Fremont), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Davis will be playing at home against Farmington at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Davis is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 66.4 points per game this season.
