Soccer Recap: Holy Spirit Catholic Wins Going Away Against Cornerstone

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Altamont, Holy Spirit Catholic was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They blew past the Cornerstone Eagles 9-1. With Holy Spirit Catholic ahead 3-0 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Holy Spirit Catholic is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-12 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 25 goals over those four matchups. As for Cornerstone, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Holy Spirit Catholic will challenge rival Tuscaloosa Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Cornerstone is set to take on their familiar foe Holy Family Catholic at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
