Volleyball Recap: Scott Picks Up Fifth Straight Win at Home

Scott had won five straight at home, but on Tuesday they bumped up to 16-5 to make it six. They won by a set and slipped past the Newport Central Catholic Thoroughbreds 3-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 back in August.

Emory Sullivan was nothing short of spectacular: she had 18 digs and three aces. That's the most digs she has posted since back in August.

They weren't the only good servers: Scott was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in five consecutive matchups.

As for Newport Central Catholic, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-13. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 11-2 Highlands (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 80.4% over those games).

Despite the loss, Newport Central Catholic had strong showings from Jordyn Reckers, who had 17 digs and four aces, and Piperlyn Kramer, who had five digs and four aces.

Scott wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Highlands on the 24th. As for Newport Central Catholic, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Beechwood on the 25th.
