Basketball Recap: Marble Falls Comes Up Short

Marble Falls was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. The match between them and the Taylor Ducks didn't end well, with the Marble Falls Mustangs falling 43-26. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1081st, while the Ducks are ranked 538th).

Taylor's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Aubriana Alderete led the charge by putting up 14 points. Alderete has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Kionayh Rivers, who posted seven points in addition to six boards and five steals.

Marble Falls' loss dropped their record down to 7-25. As for Taylor, their record is now 12-18.

Marble Falls will take on Jarrell at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Jarrell is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.3 points per game this season. As for Taylor, they will challenge Salado at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
