Baseball Recap: Sterling Comes Up Short

Sterling was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Austin Mustangs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Raiders of the 11-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Justin Torres made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 1-for-2. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.

Sterling's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Austin, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-7.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Austin beat Sterling by a score of 8-0 on Saturday.
