Baseball Recap: Bloomfield Cardinals vs. Clay City Eels
The scorekeeper got an easy start on Saturday as neither Bloomfield nor Clay City made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Cardinals took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eels. The Cardinals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eels apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.
Bloomfield saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ethan Davis, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.
Bloomfield has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Clay City, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
