Baseball Game Preview: Sunnyside Blue Devils vs. Gilbert Tigers

The Sunnyside Blue Devils will take on the Gilbert Tigers at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Sunnyside will be strutting in after a victory while Gilbert will be coming in after a defeat.

Sunnyside picked up another tournament win on Saturday. They were the clear victor by an 8-1 margin over El Paso. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Blue Devils.

MICHEL MUNIZ was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. JORGE RUIZ was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Gilbert was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of Vista Grande.

Gilbert saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brady Carlin, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Carlin also hit a double, marking his first of the season.

Sunnyside now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Gilbert, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
