Soccer Game Preview: Oak Lawn vs. Bremen

The Oak Lawn Spartans will venture away from home to face off against the Bremen Braves at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Bremen took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Oak Lawn, who comes in off a win.

Oak Lawn barely beat Richards the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Spartans' defense stepped up to hand the Bulldogs a 3-0 shutout on Tuesday. Considering Oak Lawn have won four games by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Bremen managed to keep up with Back of the Yards College Prep until halftime on Monday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Braves lost 4-1 to the Bobcats. Bremen have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The win made it two in a row for Oak Lawn and bumps their season record up to 4-1-1. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored seven goals over those two contests. As for Bremen, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6-1.

Everything went Oak Lawn's way against Bremen in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Oak Lawn made off with a 4-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Spartans since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
