Basketball Recap: Chazy Comes Up Short on the Road Against Peru

Chazy had to start their season on the road on Monday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They took a blow against the Peru Nighthawks, falling 54-27. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Nighthawks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.

Deacon Whitmarsh had a dynamite game For Peru., going 9-for-13 on his way to 20 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. Whitmarsh is crushing it when it comes to boards: he's pulled down at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Jordan Osborne, who shot 55% from the field en route to 18 points.

The win was the third in a row for Peru, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Chazy and Peru will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Eagles will challenge rival Lake Placid at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Peru is set to square off against their familiar foe Plattsburgh at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
