Softball Recap: St. Joseph's Catholic Comes Up Short

St. Joseph's Catholic extended their losing streak to five on Monday, dropping their season record down to 6-9 in the process. They lost 20-0 to the Palmetto Mustangs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-0 back in March.

As for Palmetto, their victory bumped their record up to 9-11. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Palmetto's part, Hannah Lawter was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and two runs. That's the most RBI Lawter has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Carrigan Holbert, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Joseph's Catholic will welcome Spartanburg Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Palmetto, they will be playing at home against Carolina Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
