Football Game Preview: Red Springs Red Devils vs. West Bladen Knights

The Red Springs Red Devils will square off against the West Bladen Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither Red Springs nor West Bladen posted many points in their last games, so it might be the defenses that decide this one.

On Friday, Red Springs was just a hair shy of victory and fell 14-13 to South Columbus. The Red Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Red Springs got top-tier performance from Chase Boone, who threw for 241 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also rushed for 62 yards.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 0-0 at halftime, West Bladen was not quite Fairmont's equal in the second half on Friday. They took a 12-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Golden Tornadoes.

West Bladen didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Keon Whittington and Sincere McKinley. West Bladen got some further help from Isaiah Robinson: he picked up a sack and made ten total tackles.

West Bladen's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Red Springs, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 2-5.

Red Springs was able to grind out a solid victory over West Bladen when the teams last played back in November of 2024, winning 29-20. Will the Red Devils repeat their success, or do the Knights have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
