Softball Recap: River Ridge/Scales Mound Comes Up Short

River Ridge/Scales Mound lost against East Dubuque two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Wildcats took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warriors. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

River Ridge/Scales Mound saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Laiken Haas, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

River Ridge/Scales Mound's loss dropped their record down to 9-11. As for East Dubuque, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. River Ridge/Scales Mound will challenge rival Galena at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, East Dubuque is set to square off against their familiar foe West Carroll at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in the Warriors' favor as the team sits on eight straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while the Thunder have been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.
