Recap: Portland Panthers vs. Greenbrier Bobcats
The Portland Panthers had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. In a tight matchup that could have gone either way, they made off with a 54-53 win over Greenbrier. That's another feather in the cap for Portland, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Portland found their leader in underclassman Guorchiek Mut, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds. It was the first time this season that Mut scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Taya Totten, who scored 15 points.
Portland's win bumped their record up to 12-16. As for Greenbrier, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-15 record this season.
Portland didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 37-35 victory vs. Macon County on the 12th. Greenbrier does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
