Volleyball Recap: Thursday's Defeat Ends Fisher's Winning Streak

It was a good run, but Fisher unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fieldcrest Knights. The Bunnies were not able to make up for their defeat to the Knights from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

Fisher was the model of consistency in the loss, scoring 19 points in every single set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-19.

Despite the loss, Fisher still got an impressive performance from Brooklynn Kellems, who had five digs and two aces. Kellems is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 12 or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Avery Carleton, who had seven digs.

Fisher's loss dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Fieldcrest, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fisher will take on Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Fieldcrest, they will challenge Dwight at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
