Soccer Game Preview: Mt. Carmel vs. Coronado

The Mt. Carmel Sundevils will square off against the Coronado Islanders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Mt. Carmel is likely headed into the matchup with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Monte Vista on Wednesday. Mt. Carmel fell just short of Monte Vista by a score of 2-1. The Sundevils haven't had much luck with the Monarchs recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Mt. Carmel's goal came courtesy of Rasam Saadzadeh, who's now up to two this season.

Meanwhile, for the first time this season, Coronado was forced to settle for a draw. Neither they nor Valhalla could gain the upper hand on Tuesday so the two teams had to settle for a 2-2 draw.

With that draw, Coronado's record moves to 4-3-1. As for Mt. Carmel, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6-2.

Mt. Carmel took their victory against Coronado when the teams last played back in December of 2023 by a conclusive 4-0. Will Mt. Carmel repeat their success, or does Coronado have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
