Soccer Game Preview: Mabank vs. Palestine

A feisty cat fight will be fought as Mabank take on Palestine at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Palestine will be up against a hot Mabank squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Mabank put the hurt on Ford with a sharp 6-1 win on Saturday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for Mabank considering their one-goal performance the game before.

Addison Stephens was the driving force of Mabank's attack as she scored all six of Mabank's goals, bringing her season total up to 44 goals.

Meanwhile, Palestine entered their tilt with Diboll on Friday with four consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with five. Their defense stepped up to hand the Lumberjacks a 9-0 shutout. Give the Wildcats' defense some credit: that's the team's fifth straight shutout.

Palestine's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-5-1. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those seven matchups. As for Mabank, their win bumped their record up to 11-9.

Mabank skirted past Palestine 3-2 in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mabank since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
