Baseball Recap: Gilbert Comes Up Short

Gilbert lost against Van Meter back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Tigers fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Tigers have suffered against the Bulldogs since July 10, 2019.

Gilbert now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Van Meter, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Gilbert and Van Meter will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Tigers will challenge rival Bondurant-Farrar at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Van Meter is set to square off against their familiar foe Earlham at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
