Basketball Recap: Aniya Swartz's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Rosman over Madison

Rosman was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 48-23 to the Madison Patriots. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Patriots apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Aniya Swartz, who posted four points along with nine boards and three steals. Those three steals gave Swartz a new career-high.

Even though they lost, Rosman smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Madison only pulled down five offensive boards.

Madison's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sarah Ball led the charge by going 5 of 9 on her way to 13 points. Another player making a difference was Anna Barnette, who had six points and four steals.

Rosman's defeat dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Madison, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-13.

Rosman has already played their next match, a 57-19 loss against Mitchell on the 30th. As for Madison, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 40-39 victory against Draughn on the 31st.
