Soccer Game Preview: Tech vs. Irvington

Tech is 0-7 against Irvington since September of 2015 but things could change on Thursday. The Panthers will look to defend their home pitch against the Blue Knights at 4:15 p.m.

Tech is looking to tack another W on to their season record, something they couldn't quite do against Eastside on Tuesday. Neither the Panthers nor the Ghosts could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 2-2 draw.

Meanwhile, Irvington kept a clean sheet against East Orange Campus on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 7-0 margin over the Jaguars. Considering Irvington's offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Tech's draw gives them a new season record of 1-2-1. As for Irvington, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-4-1.

Tech suffered a grim 4-1 defeat to Irvington in their previous matchup back in September of 2023. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
