Softball Recap: Livonia Has No Trouble Against Naples

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Haverling, Livonia was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Naples Big Green Machines as they made off with a 10-3 victory. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by seven runs or more this season.

Ava Cook made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Cook was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, McKenna Collins was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gwen Strom, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Livonia moved to 5-7 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Naples, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Livonia will venture away from home to take on Wayland-Cohocton at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Bulldogs surely won't give up without a fight. As for Naples, they will challenge South Seneca at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
