Baseball Recap: South Spencer Comes Up Short

South Spencer lost against Evansville Memorial back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Rebels took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers.

Ty Brown made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one triple. Ty Mattingly was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

South Spencer dropped their record down to 7-8 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Evansville Memorial, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-2 record this season.

South Spencer will challenge Washington at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games the Hatchets have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Evansville Memorial, they will square off against Castle at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Knights' pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so the Tigers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
