Baseball Game Preview: Capuchino Mustangs vs. Terra Nova Tigers

The Capuchino Mustangs will square off against the Terra Nova Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Capuchino is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.

Capuchino's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 7-0 margin over Mills.

Capuchino let Travis Ciardella and Bobby Gomez run wild. Ciardella scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Gomez went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Jordan Estrella was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases.

Capuchino was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Meanwhile, Terra Nova kicked off their season on Thursday but they'll have to wait until their next contest for a more definitive result. They and Archbishop Riordan finished up on equal footing with a 4-4 tie. The Tigers' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak dating back to last season.

Capuchino's victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 8.5 runs. Terra Nova's tie gives them a new season record of 0-0-1.

Capuchino came out on top in a nail-biter against Terra Nova in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, sneaking past 1-0. Does Capuchino have another victory up their sleeve, or will Terra Nova turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
