Softball Recap: 14 Straight Road Victories for Lincoln-Way Central

Lincoln-Way Central barely beat Bradley-Bourbonnais the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Knights never let the Boilermakers get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory on Tuesday. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by six runs or more this season.

The result came thanks to Lisabella Dimitrijevic's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up 21 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 13 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Teagan Berkshire was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024. Abigail Paczesny was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Lincoln-Way Central's win was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Bradley-Bourbonnais, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-6 record this season.

Lincoln-Way Central and Bradley-Bourbonnais should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Knights (ranked first) will meet Downers Grove North (ranked 204th) at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Lincoln-Way Central 2.2, the Trojans 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Bradley-Bourbonnais will square off against Sandburg at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (29 vs. 268).
