Soccer Game Preview: Newman International Academy vs. DeSoto

The Newman International Academy Warriors are taking a road trip to square off against the DeSoto Eagles on Thursday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Newman International Academy is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to four goals back in December of 2024, they were much more limited against Life Oak Cliff on Saturday. They lost 7-0 to the Lions. The Warriors have struggled against the Lions recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, DeSoto fell victim to Nimitz and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They came up short against the Vikings, falling 8-0.

DeSoto's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Newman International Academy, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
