Volleyball Recap: Genesis Prep Academy Comes Up Short at Home Against Priest River

Genesis Prep Academy unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Priest River Spartans on Thursday, falling 3-0. The Jaguars have struggled against the Spartans recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

The match finished with set scores of 25-7, 25-5, 25-9.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Priest River to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jayda Storro, who had 25 assists and eight aces. What's more, Storro posted four kills, the most she's had since back in October of 2024. Another player making a difference was Aleigha Jensen, who had eight aces.

Priest River has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Genesis Prep Academy and Priest River will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Jaguars will challenge rival Lakeside at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Priest River is set to take on their familiar foe St. Maries at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
