On Tuesday, Southwind faced Houston in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Southwind Jaguars fell to the Houston Mustangs 56-50. The Jaguars' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Southwind lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Kristopher Carrol, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine boards. Ronald Towns was another key player, going 5 of 11 en route to 12 points in addition to five assists and five rebounds.

Southwind's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-5. As for Houston, their win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-5.
