Volleyball Recap: Waverly Vikings vs. Gretna Dragons

It's playoff time, and Waverly had no trouble coming through when it counted. They put the hurt on the Gretna Dragons with a sharp 3-0 victory on Wednesday. This was a revenge game for the Vikings: when they faced off against the Dragons back in September, they had to take a 3-2 defeat.

Gracie Lauenstein paced Waverly's offense, picking up 16 kills. Lauenstein got some help from McKinley Moser and her 43 assists. Emmalyn Quinn controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

When it comes to explaining why Gretna lost, don't look at Lily Zimmerman. Despite the final result, she had 15 digs and one assist. Zimmerman has been hot, having posted 12 or more digs the last five times she's played. Kyla Gangwish also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.
