Basketball Recap: West Prairie Cyclones vs. Liberty Eagles
On Monday, the West Prairie Cyclones ended up a good deal behind the Liberty Eagles and lost 65-47. The Cyclones have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Several Cyclones players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Braden Coplan, who went 5 of 12 en route to 15 points along with six rebounds and five assists. Another player making a difference was Ryan Clark, who went 7 for 11 on his way to 17 points.
Jack Sparrow continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Liberty, going 10 of 15 en route to 23 points in addition to seven boards and four blocks. Sparrow is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for five straight games. Gavin Edgar was another key player, putting up 14 points and five rebounds.
West Prairie's defeat dropped their record down to 10-15. As for Liberty, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-9.
West Prairie will challenge Abingdon/Avon at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Liberty has already played their next matchup, a 59-51 victory against Barry Western on the 4th.
