Basketball Recap: Kermit Comes Up Short

After flying high against Tornillo last Tuesday, Kermit came back down to earth. The Kermit Yellow Jackets were beaten by the Presidio Blue Devils 66-31 on Friday. The Yellow Jackets haven't had much luck with the Blue Devils recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

When it comes to explaining why Kermit lost, don't look at Diego Juarez. Despite the final result, he went 6 of 11 en route to 12 points and five rebounds. That was a full 38.7% of Kermit's points, marking the third time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points.

Kermit's loss dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Presidio, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kermit has already played their next contest (against Alpine), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Presidio will venture away from home to challenge Tornillo at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Presidio knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Tornillo likes a good challenge.
