Mabton posted their closest win since February 9, 2024 on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Tonasket Tigers 59-56. The win was nothing new for the Vikings as they're now sitting on three straight.

Tonasket lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Kristian Jones, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 12 boards. The matchup was Jones' fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Tanner Tompkins, who posted 18 points and seven rebounds.

Mabton's victory bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Tonasket, their loss dropped their record down to 7-5.

The future could be bright for both Mabton and Tonasket: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Mabton will try to hand River View their eighth-straight defeat when the two meet at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Similarly, Tonasket will try to hand Manson their fourth-straight loss when the two meet at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
